We have an exciting new opportunity for an experienced HIM professional to join our LexiCode team! The Client Relations Manager is responsible for client satisfaction and retention, upselling, problem solving, and volume projections. Position will work out of our Columbia, SC office.

Job Functions:

  • Maintain and build professional relationships with existing clients in furtherance of company goals; Work in conjunction with Account Managers and Senior Management to improve client satisfaction and problem solve client feedback/complaints, project client volumes.
  • Determine the customer’s needs, make service recommendations according to customer’s needs, offer value added services to enhance satisfaction; Sells additional services to current customers.
  • Provides guidance, direction and information to clients on specific situations that arise.
  • Travel to client sites as needed for presentations or problem solving;
  • Monitor and regularly report on client satisfaction and volume projections;
  • Comply with confidentiality standards, including HIPAA privacy regulations.

Requirements:

  • RHIA, RHIT or CCS credential from AHIMA is preferred and desired
  • Bachelor’s or Associate’s degree
  • 2-5 years’ work experience in HIM management, sales, or consulting
  • Proven experience in medium to complex management activities, such as business development, or people/project management
  • Ability to travel when needed

Role Purpose

Manages the leadership, coordination, planning and oversight for high level compliance programs and initiatives across BJC HealthCare and affiliated partners. Identifies, defines, organizes and facilitates required tasks, while implementing best practice initiatives, project management methodologies and ensuring compliance with the Affordable Care Act (ACA) and Stark regulations. Responsible for working with BJC executive leadership, BJC Legal Services, HSO leadership and project teams to ascertain business terms of relationships with HSOs and other institutions.

  • Designs and implements process and procedures relating to the initiation, drafting, processing, and assessing compliance to terms to ensure accurate documentation and adherence to BJC policies and regulatory requirements.
  • Creates and maintains a confidential database related to clinical, financial, board member and officer personal information, and other administrative information required. Develops and implements necessary training for use in educating HSOs, as well as informing employed physicians, residents, fellows, NPs.
  • Promotes effective communication through good working relationships with BJC executive leadership, HSO leadership and departmental leadership required to facilitate information sharing and data collection.
  • Tracks open issues and facilitates resolution of open items
  • Ensures that business terms are relayed to BJC legal Services for contract drafting or contract review. Coordinates with Legal Services to determine and identify legal issues that need resolution.

Job Description:

Accurate assignment of appropriate ICD10, CPT or HCPCS, based on clinical documentation from the medical record and in compliance with coding rules and guidelines. Assigns accurate DRG, using compliant documentation and encoder. Understands the coding guidelines and uses them to select the appropriate diagnosis.

Applies coding guidelines to achieve correct coding assignments. Responds to requests for unbilled account follow up. Interprets physician documentation within compliant coding guidelines. Obtains clarification from physicians regarding vague and unclear medical record documentation. Queries the physician per LifePoint coding guidelines when appropriate.

Participates in the Hospital Acquired Conditions (HAC) and HARMS pre-bill review workflow.

Licensure:

  • RHIA, RHIT, CCS combination preferred – requires at least one accreditation and certification. Prior experience with case management and clinical   documentation improvement and ICD-10 Trainer certification preferred. Coding certification must be completed within 1 year if course work supports applicant.

Professional Experience:

  • Minimum of two years of Health Information Management (HIM) experience with a minimum of two years inpatient coding experience. Will accept candidate with 5 years HIM experience, AHIMA coding education training, ICD10 training and one year of hospital based inpatient coding.
